7000 Kilometres

From Emily Maye

This year I have set myself of a goal to complete 7000 Kilometres on my bicycle. That goal seems unrealistic now as I have only completed 120km and its nearly March. I'm not fully righting the challenge off though... Me and some friends are looking at doing a 5 day cycling trip to Scotland which could kill off 1000km off the target and I have all Spring, Summer and Autumn yet.
Emily Mayes pictures give me that inspiration and desire to just jump on my bike and have a cycle. Her pictures have that incredible film-like tone to them. It could well be a film camera as i'm not sure what she uses. I've flicked through her website a couple of times now and they're just incredible.
The cyclocross pictures above captured my eye and it reminds me of when myself and a friend cycled down a canal path, not knowing how muddy it was... We only cycled 4 miles down it on MTB bicycles and I almost passed out. It just makes me appreciate the fitness of these cyclist, cycling through similar or worse conditions with tyres half the thickness.  I'm sure with the cycling season now underway, it gives you that desire to cycle when your watching it.
